Clinical & Translational Research

The large numbers of liver disease patients seen at KUMC, a strong group of academic physicians, and a large cadre of well established principal investigators focused on liver diseases has made the University of Kansas Medical Center a quickly progressing center for Clinical and Translational Research in Liver Disease.

In addition to a number of clinical trials of experimental treatments for liver disease, the voluntary participation of the many patients receiving care at our Medical Center has allowed KUMC to establish the KU Liver Center Tissue Bank. This unique tissue sample depository provides investigators with the tools to make basic discoveries that can further improve patient care.
