Participant Payment ClinCard Management

Research Administration ClinCard Program for Study Teams

What is a ClinCard?

A ClinCard is a reloadable, prepaid debit card that is available as a mechanism to pay participants for research participation. View the ClinCard Manual of Operations and the Greenphire ClinCard training session to learn more about the system, how to use it, gain access and find support.

The following are the main steps for using the ClinCard program. Please note that the use of ClinCard for research participant fee payments must be approved by the IRB and administered by Research Administration.

Step 1: New Study ClinCard Accounts

Research Administration or Clinical Trials Office (CTO) staff are responsible for creating new study accounts and payment schedules for the investigator based on the budget/consent form. Requests for login access are submitted on behalf of the study team at this time. Access for additional team members can be requested via the ClinCard Request Form.

Step 2: Pick Up Cards

If needed, a supply of cards for a new study can be picked up at the Research Administration offices located in the Support Services building, suite 120, on the main campus, Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-3:00 PM.

Questions regarding ClinCards should be sent to myResearchSupport@kumc.edu.
